Best picker in the world - bar NONE. Influenced every Nashville player under the age of 45. Living legend. And I saw him for no much more than tenner at a small pub in Crouch End two Sundays ago.

If you can play 10 per cent as well as Albert you'll be 95 per cent better than 80 per cent of other guitarists!

One of my favourite Youtube clips is of the Sweet Little Lisa session Albert did for Dave Edmunds about 30 years ago. It shows Dave and Nick Lowe dumbstruck at AL's ability.

Saw him with Bill Wyman's Rhythm kings in October. Great player, met Albert, Bill and Mary Wilson (The Supremes) after the show too.
