Wasps in December?
Discussion
I live in Scotland and just discovered a big wasp buzzing around my room! I always thought they "died off" during the winter, whatever that means?
This guy was a tricky one, and I had to manufacture a sophisticated trap consisting of a saucer, some sugar and an extendable stick. He fell for it and the glass was over the saucer before he knew what was happening. Boom! Man 1, Beast 0.
He seemed to be enjoying the sugar, so I let him refuel for a short while before letting him go out the window. Are wasps in winter common? I don't think I can ever recall seeing one this deep into winter.
