964 ngt Spec , Where to race ? Help !
Discussion
Where can I race a 964 built to rs / ngt spec ?
I have been looking at the Future Classics . Is there anything else I can race this in ?
It is a plus if its competitive but it's not the end of the world if it isn't . Sprint or endurance anything will do .
Any help from the PH massive is greatly appreciated .

I'm absolutely convinced that the car is eligible for CSCC "Future Classics" AND their "Deutsche Marque" series. You could even race in the two races on the same day. That's where I'd be looking if I was you (but I am biased!); great racing and a great club & a chance to race at Spa, too.

Andy thats my preferred series (thanks for answering btw ) . I was just worried that apparently you have to be " invited " to join . I dont know much about that .Do you race there ?
I am also a wee bit concerned about this 30 second penalty thing , I may not be getting it right .

Its an inclusive club & the regs are designed to attract as many people as possible to race with us. As for racing "by invitaion" then thats just a means to help us police driving standards, so all are welcome but if the driving standards are not up to snuff & there's too much contact then entries (or "invites") may be withdrawn in the future! Fortunately I can't think of an occasion when thats happened, or if it has only once.
It really is a good club with good racing through the field. Future Classics has been on the up & up & has had entry lists with reserves in the last couple of years so you can be assured of good racing. Deutsche Marque was in its first year in 2011 & grids rose steadily to top out at 19 at Silverstone but tailed off after that for some reason. DM was introduced because of the popularity of FC & the fact that we had so many entries from German cars that were then ending up as reserves. Hopefully DM will get support in 20122 & will grow. What it does mean is that you will be guaranteed a race, because even if FC is over subscribed your car will still be eligible (& very welcome) in the 40 min DM race.
My advice is to join the club (£35 before 31 Dec, £39 after) & register for FC or DM (£95 before 31 Dec & £99 after) & you will then receive all the race entry info, can enter races in the normal way & won't have to wait to be invited. The club will be at the Autosport & Race Retro Shows so you can chat to any of us then.
If you have any further questions then feel free to post them here or PM me or Stuart.

OK, not sure why that is but i think they are still tweaking some of the criteria following feedback from competitors. Join the club & register for FC now & then you can register for DM later. I think that if you are registering for a second series you get a discount anyway.
Also, when you eventually enter races if you do FC & DM, you also get a discount on the second race entry. something to do with already having paid for the MSA bit of the entry fee.

Deutsche Marque is up in the air because there is no clarity on how the rules should evolve for 2012 - but there is even talk of it not running next season, I don't know. I'm not sure what they are proposing but it's still not clear to me if I will be allowed to race in DM in 2012.Also, when you eventually enter races if you do FC & DM, you also get a discount on the second race entry. something to do with already having paid for the MSA bit of the entry fee.
Tell us more about the car.
As I have an NGT, I did look at racing in Future Classics, and it does looks good (I do Mag 7s too - a sister series). I think your car will be eligble for AMOC intermarque too of course. NGTs have raced there for a while.
It is not a true NGT , it is a race car built to ngt spec ( read much less allergic to gravel ! ) . what is mag 7 and amoc ? ( sounds awesome ) and would a car like mine be welcome ?

CSCC Deutsche Marque Rgs for 2012 are out now & can be found here: http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/deutschemarq...
The club have made some changes to the series regs. The series grew well in 2011 with a high point of 19 cars at Silverstone, not bad for a series in its first year, but feedback from competitors and potential competitors has led to a few slight changes to try to encourage even more cars out, particularly smaller capacity cars and cars with nearer standard power outputs.
The main changes are:
1. German cars (inc Opels etc) of any age are allowed to compete (previously it was 1990 onwards)
2. BMW minis are now allowed in (in both naturally aspirated and forced induction form)
3. Turbo cars are now allowed in up to 2.5 litres (it was previously limited to 2 litres turbo)
4. 1.8 litre VAG Turbo powered cars will now be allowed in the up to 3 litre class (previously they were over 3 litres).
5 The class structure has been revised as follows (Class A & B are new):
Class structure:
Class A - Up to 1600cc normally aspirated
Class B - 1601cc to 1800cc normally aspirated
Class C - 1801cc to 2499cc normally aspirated
Class D - 2500cc to 2999cc including VAG 1800 Turbos and forced induction BMW Mini Cooper.
Class E - up to 3000cc models with variable valve timing as a standard feature including 3 litre BMW M3 and Porsche 968
Class F- 3000cc and over including Porsche 944 Turbo and BMW 3.2 Evo
Class I - Invitation Class. (Not eligible for awards)
Porsche GT2 and GT3 are specifically excluded from the series as are all cars prepared to BMWRDC Kumho Championship Classes A to D technical regulations.
