Aperture assistance (the Mac version!)

I've been using Apple's Aperture for some months now.

Today I import a new batch of pictures, but can't see them. I can see the thumbnails of them in the "browser" option, but when I double click it's blank. If I use the loupe, the loupe works as normal, but there's"main" picture / ie. when you turn the loupe off it's blank again.

This happens on all the albums in there, not just the ones I loaded today.

Has anyone any ideas please?

Ooo, a bit of experimenting and it's worse than that. When I plug my brand new 27" thunderbolt Mac monitor in, I can't see any pics in full screen. When I disconnect it, it's all ok.

Works fine when connected to other monitors.

Can't find anything on the internet. Think this will require a call to the Apple people...

WEIRD... Sounds almost like some sort of fked up side effect of the rights protection thing like you get with HDMI - why else would it not let you se photos.

what happens if you try playing a rights protected DVD over the thunderbolt to the external monitor - Disney should be a good test if you have one.

Dunno, I shall try (tomorrow)

btw, Apple say "bring it in". Which is a lovely time of year to attempt that. Indicates they've not seen the fault before so don't have an s/w update to fix.
