Have some good friends coming round tomorrow for lunch and drinks etc.

have bought a double bone in forerib of beef (lightly rolled) and i'm trying to work out how to cook it.

Firstly whilst i love blue steak i fear the rest of the party will only appreciate a bit of bloodyness. So, how long, what temp, etc etc?

Also does anyone have any TOTALLY foolproof recipes for yorkshire puds? 2 things i can't make properly- yorkshire puds and mincemeat pies despite being a really rather competent cook.....

For the beef: Season heavily then brown the meat and crisp the fat in a red hot frying pan with a drop or two of oil. Season again and smear with mustard then into a medium oven (about 180) for about 45 minutes. Then rest under foil for half an hour. Will have a combination of medium on the outer edges through the rare in the middle. If it's too rare for anyone just put the sliced meat back into the oven for a minute.

Yorkies: As per above.
