Near Belper anyone? Need some car advice
Discussion
Afternoon
Anyone here know anything about Range Rovers that's near Belper & would be willing to go and look at one for me please, for a few pints? It belongs to a mate's Dad, he's looking to sell & I need something for the Snow so I'm not using the Porsche
What I know so far...
Its got an LPG tank, and an overfinch sports kit so it doesnt corner like a boat. In pretty good shape inside and out, structurally sound, v8
ýMOT ran out... 18 months ago, no MOT or tax cos he's been ill.
He's had it ten years and anything its needed doing to pass MOT has been done by Frankerbrook garage.
1991, had it since May 2000
Both sets of cylinder heads were reconditioned in 2001 when the gas conversion was done and gas conversion cylinder head gaskets were fitted. dad thinks that's more relevant.
Converted to LPG by Frankerbrook garage, 2001, Still has its original fuel tank too with an autoturnover to gas at about 1500rpm
Very little rust except for front edge of bonnet apparently
Tyres are in good shape, standard fitting wide... something. Goodyear somethings,Paint job is in good shape for its age and is Westminster grey with matching interior.
moved up and down the garden a couple of times. It'll want the discs cleaned and new pads, probably, but the discs were new before it got parked up.
It starts nicely & turns over okay
Its a Vogue SE badged as overfinch has AC and electric seats and whatnot.

Hi Ali,
yes, I'm in Belper, but I don't know owt about RR's though.
Quite happy to go and look it over
plasticpig (Kier) does know about them, so perhaps he might join me?
Warren, as a P38 owner, I am happy to join you on a viewing.... I am Allestree, so not far away at all...yes, I'm in Belper, but I don't know owt about RR's though.

I did question the model on FB.... A 91 would definately be a classic.... Although it could be an early P38 on a 91 private plate?
Anyhow....
I have the details Ali
and will arrange to go on Saturday.
However, with the question over RRC or P38, if there is a set of experienced Classic eyes who could join me, I'd appreciate it. P38s I know some of the things to look for (my bank balance can testify this!) But I'd be pretty much blind to anything other than the obvious on a Classic....

Will pictures help?
Roy says its a P38, no good asking me
A picture would be enormously helpful!Roy says its a P38, no good asking me

The FB message you sent me including Ron's details would suggest a P38 - but Ron was assuming a 2001 car - your post at the top of the thread suggests a 1991 car.... which would be a Classic rather than a P38
If you can get a photo up, we'll know within one second!

Guys, thank you all very much, however, I have just (hangover free!) thought about getting an insurance quote - £3k!
So, I shall not be persuing this line on enquiry any further!

What on earth have you got on your driving record to get a quote like that?!So, I shall not be persuing this line on enquiry any further!

I pay around £400 for a Vogue P38 with all the trimmings, unimited mileage and business use!!
