Based in S Cambs, we are looking for a Project Manager working with advanced automation products and services for life science research, development and production.
Job Purpose
Our projects range from relatively small standard projects that deliver products to customers, through to large, complex product development projects.
This role is to lead projects which deliver “standard” products to customers. Though these are standard product deliveries, every project has its own special demands – perhaps a small amount of engineering development or a unique customer situation. The role is responsible for all stages of the project and for meeting budget, schedule and quality requirements.
We are looking for candidates who can offer experience of project management such that they are able to contribute quickly and strongly to our current project portfolio.
Key Job Accountabilities
To professionally execute standard products delivery process meeting budget, schedule and quality targets and to provide an unbeatable customer experience.
To be the main point of contact and 100% accountable to the customer for the supply of their product.
To be the absolute professional, completely flexible and to manage relationships with clients.
To co-ordinate people and other resources to undertake small engineering development projects.
To be responsible for financial control of the projects including budgets, plans, resources, contingencies, risk mitigation and regular project status reporting.
To determine and manage the resource allocation for the projects.
To be a role model for health and safety on projects.
To champion and search for continuous improvement in the project process itself, with particular focus on quality and cost.
Travel as required, sometimes at short notice, worldwide, to execute the projects.
To keep up-to-date with tools and techniques appropriate to the job.
Education/Qualifications/Special Training
Good standard of education including Maths, English and a science-related subject plus either an HNC/HND or equivalent in a numerate/engineering discipline.
Alternatively, a qualification in Project Management.
Experience
Proven track record in Project Management on complex, varying projects
Able to demonstrate a successful record in managing multiple large value projects, including interactions with multi-disciplinary teams, and preferably in the automation field.
Experience of customer handling and contract variation negotiation.
Fluent in Microsoft Project.
