Does anyone use Nagra equipment for home play of general music?
I'm reading an excellent book (Donnie Brasco) on mob infiltration, true life account of the deepest an FBI agent infiltrated the mafia. Chap in the book was wearing Nagra recording equipment, so I presumed it would have been more or less the best available at the time - with th book being set in the 70s.
Quick google shows Nagra are still in business. It's not a name I'm familiar with, hence the curiosity regarding the quality of their merchandise, although their products don't really look that suited to the home user.

Nagra have been the film/TV choice for audio recording equipment for many years. In particular, their reel to reel portable tape recorders must have been used by 99% of telly sound recordists during the good old days of film.
I have never seen any domestic kit made by them, and I doubt it would be suitable TBH.
