Insulin Pens buying on line???
Discussion
Hi , I have been diabetic for 30 years and for the last 7 years i have been using Lilly huma pens , I need a replacement as lost my usual one so gone back to huma pen engo an old version of the one I currently use (Huma pen Luxura).
Is it ok to ask for a replacement or do I have to buy one being as I lost it ?
They are around £45 on line

There is a very strong possibility that I am wrong here but, a lot of diabetes paraphernalia is supplied by the companies free of charge, that way you then use their insulin. I did a 1 week (!) placement in a hospital diabetes unit and they certainly had free blood sugar meters etc.
I admire your honesty, talk to your prescriber, if it has to be paid for it comes out of their budget so the choice is theirs. Just don't loose the next one!

Hey Rod, long time no see, hope all is well and you still have your gorgeous Tuscan? I've moved to Surrey now and have a new baby William so lots have changed!!!Didn't know you were Diabetic, but then it's not something that gets thrown into conversataion I guess!!
My 11yr old Daughter has recently been diagnosed with type I diabetes and has been doing really well with giving injections etc. We have a great diabetic team here and are very supportive. We got another pen from her gp on prescripton so she could leave a spare one at school and also a spare blood glucose machine for school.
