360 controller problem
Discussion
Good evening/morning PH,
I know that if I ask on here I will get results,
About two months ago I bought a slim Xbox 360 4gb, got tired of having no space and got a hard drive, I'm still using the controller that came with it but the trouble is, I replaced the batteries for the same ones, yesterday the controller starts turning its self off, it only happens online on black ops, zombies etc, I don't really know what to do because it should be a brand new controller right? Well today I tried everything, tried a rechargeable battery pack, new batteries, tried with a different Xbox, nothing still the problem goes on, any suggestions before I lose my mind and sell the Xbox and carry on with my trusty ps3?
Cheers in advance and a virtual beer token for the sorter of the problem!
Steve

I'm using some everyday crap because they worked fine in the mouse and keyboard, I'll try some more batteries first and I've already tried a different controller and all was fine, I just don't see how chucking money at another one is going to help sort this one, do. Have a leg to stand on if controller is broken? It's approx 2 months old and was came with the console as standard from argos

Absolutely you have a leg. Back to Argos, or via email, explaining that you have tried the dodgy controller with new batteries, with battery packs from known good controllers and the fault exists. You have tried the Xbox with other known good controllers and the problem doesn't exist. By dint of elimination, therefore, the problem lies in the controller itself, not the batteries. Therefore you need a new controller. Your problem lies in the fact that they sold you a package, and may wish to replace the whole thing, including the HDD that now holds all your savegames etc. Polite but firm may help at this stage.
Thanks for the advice, i will go down there at some stage today, the controller is now giving me a lot more trouble, for instance when it gets going on forza 4 the left button does not work, i honestly thought my ps3 would be the first to give me trouble, no, the console i paid for and then had to buy an hdd and then 12 months xbox live had to go and be a total ghey!
