Point and shoot advise

I'm after something I can keep in a pocket, to save lugging around the camera bag. I don't want to spend much more than £200 for the camera. I've looked at these few:

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V
Canon Ixus 230 HS

The spec of the HX9V seems much better, 16x zoom, 921k res screen (Canon only 400k). All do full HD video.

Any others to think about? Would like to purchase in the next week.

ETA: I've just seen the Canon S95 for £244, it looks to be top spec as well, so would consider paying a little more for it. I'm like the aperture setting on it too.

Pretty sure the S95 is GetCarter's point and shoot of choice, he has posted some nice images from it.

Quick bump. Any other opinions. I've read reviews of the Sony and people seem to think the quality isnt good. But then, are they comparing it to a £400 P&S?

Anythings going to be better than my old Canon IXUS 860IS right?

Saw Canon S95 for £199 the other day.. sold out

Best I see now is £238

As mentioned elsewhere S100 comes out Jan 1st... S95 will drop in price.

Had my HX9V for about 4 months now, no complaints about image quality here. Superb bit of kit and it pees all over my older Panasonic Lumix TZ5. HD video is really excellent

GetCarter, its for a Christmas present. Shame, it stands to be a knock out camera, maybe with a heavy price tag.

itsnotarace, thanks. I think that's what I'd settle on. The S95 has a few flaws and I'm liking the Sony (also has some flaws!).
