An open letter to GamePod (or McGyver strikes out)
Discussion
A tale from today, proof that she is definitely SWMBO.
"Dear Gamepod
I’ve had a very poor day, mainly because I’ve spent most of it jammed against others with poor hygiene, and very loud telephone voices on public transport, because I had a business meeting in the big city. Then I got home and had two very hungry teenagers and a fully grown man scratching at the fridge like dingos . I felt quite buoyant, because as a professional working mom, I have this situation covered, and Asda were duly air dropping supplies between 6-8pm this evening. Armageddon averted.
Sadly because Gamepod took payment for an order today from my credit card, that I cancelled last night with Lee, said supplies did not arrive, and my credit card was declined by Asda… oh the shame.
I ordered a GT2 Frame Only, PPS system and Seat Mounts on November 13th and duly received confirmation of said order. There was no customisation or embroidery. This item was to be the answer to my prayers, because my other half has been tearing up my wood effect laminate for the past four years, driving his highly individually designed gaming chair (fashioned from my ab trainer, a sack trolley and a slice of formica like McGyver in the garage) He cuts quite dash driving in the comfort of our couch with my treadmill mat wedged underneath the pedals. It has to be seen to be believed!
I had seen the Gamepod, and thought, you know this looks like the dogs nuts.
After receiving the acknowledgement, we left it a while to hear when we could pick the item up. We live a mere thirty miles from Gamepod, and quite frankly, I haven’t seen McGyver that excited in a long time. McGyver was getting edgy by the 21st, so he emailed the order number and asked if he could pick up on Nov 21st.
We didn’t receive any response, and McGyver had no joy in obtaining a telephone number. He also was little concerned by posts on the forum on Insidesimracing.tv from others who were having difficulties, so he asked me to cancel. Imagine that, it’s like not getting the ‘chopper’ from Santa in the 70’s. You’ve made a 46 year old man very unhappy. I’m unsure he’ll ever realise his dream of becoming GT5 champion 2011. Imagine the shame when the neighbours see him through the venetians driving a piece of formica…
I wrote to Gamepod on 30th November via email to cancel. I was assured by Lee that we were emailed on 15th November. We have no record of this, and we have checked our Spam folder. He also confirmed he would cancel the order and refund my credit card.
What actually happened was the reverse. I cancelled the order, then you took payment.
So, in conclusion.
Not only have you dashed the dreams of a middle aged man, you’ve potentially starved a family, you’ve prevented me from using my ab trainer, which I was quite fond of, and you’ve totally hacked me off.
I’d appreciate it if you could REFUND the money to my credit card as soon as is humanly possible. If you fail to do this within the next 24hours, I will drive McGyvers monstrosity over there and insert it rectally. I trust there’s plenty of parking."

£12?!!! Sounds like absolute bdual shock controllers at GAME up £12....they said Sony had put the price hike on them...
very annoying
ks to me! Why Sony would suddenly up the RRP on their product is beyond me if they've been selling them at a certain price for so long.Unless they are a revised new product, I can't see how they could be so stupid!

The DS controller in GAME the other day was £52....
I'm just passing on the comment from the shop when they saw my face....
Noticed this when I went in to pick up Forza 4, gave the guy behind the till and I good laugh.I'm just passing on the comment from the shop when they saw my face....
In fact the most expensive online shop I could find is very.co.uk at £44. Most others are below RRP (cheapest is around £24 for a real controller, even less for some somewhat questionable sources)
