Chicken with Franks sauce with crème fraîche, crusty bread, great, but it is so vinegary it needs weakening a little (sometimes it can attack the other half's ulcer). On the bottle it says mix with butter, but butter gives me migraines. Any ideas as to how I can slightly reduce the vinegar without resorting to butter?

Brown sugar or molasses - used in far more sauces than you'd think.

Forget about sauce. Salt and pepper in a very hot oven for 40 mins. Absolute heaven.

Are you mixing Franks with other ingredients and butter to make a marinade to cook the wings in? If so, olive oil could replace the butter. Or, as others have said, if you want to reduce the vinegar taste, add sugar.

If the correct use of this sauce either gives your other half ulcer problems, or gives you migraines, why bother?

Because it tastes fantastic, so only have it as a treat. We feel deprived if we cant eat them. rolleyes

It's hot enough, believe me. Think buffalo wings, then hotter.

As above, Sainsbury's near me sells it. When I bought it I was surprised to find it was much like Tabasco in consistency and with a drip top - I was expecting something more like Encona or the like, and so have never really used it.
