For a work related job I am looking for someone that has a press that can fit something in which is 6foot tall

It only needs about 40 tons of squeeze just getting something long enough is the problem

The Metal Centre on South Fort Street in Edinburgh could probably help you out. Probably not for pennies though.

If you want to try somewhere more local, give Keith or Bruce at Titan Torque in Tullos www.titantorque.co.uk a shout?

Not sure if they have exactly what you are looking for, but maybe worth asking the question? I know they have a hydraulic machine that can stab up 60ft tools but not sure whether it goes to 40MT. They could probably advise somewhere else local if not.

If you are still looking for somewhere to do this I may be able to help you out. We have a 400te test bed for tension but I'm sure something could be rigged to compress. We do have a 50te comp/tension bed but not quite tall enough.

If we can't help you out I am sure we know who can.

Based about 10 miles north of aberdeen in oldmeldrum.

Well now you have said that, I'm stumped. Pretty much all the places I know of have horizontal machines.

I think you will be lucky to find somewhere around this area with a vertical machine big enough to take the equipment.

If you want to fire an eamil over to me at rcraig@rriuk.com with dimensions and such like, I can have a think about ways to do it with what we have.
