2500 - 6 days - no problem !!

Last night just got back from France and thought I just had to comment on how fantastic driving through France has been, Why can't we have such good roads?
Quick breakdown:
Monday - Started from Derby and drove down to Dover and then on to Paris where some parisian T**T put 2 scrapes down the side of the car. about 500 miles
Tuesday - Drove over to Grenoble and stayed up in the mountains at a place called Le Sappy en Chartreuse (I think thats how they spelt it. Brathtaking views. 300 miles
Wednesday - Down to Nice over the Mountains (probably the nicest drive ever - long sweeping bends for about 150K, superb). Stopped off at Monaco / Monte Carlo, did a few laps of the course. The Tunnels in and around Nice/Monaco were awesome had a blast around with a Ferrari 360. days mileage 350 miles (most of which was driving in and around Monaco)
Thursday - drove over St Tropez in temperatures over 35C I wish I had AC, saw no end of Porches, Ferrari's, Lambo's, a bit like Derby town centre really. 200 Miles
Friday - up to Dijon on the Toll roads so not too exciting. 400 Miles
Saturday - back up to Calais and this is where the fun picked up driving along doing a steady 80 - 90 when at about 120 MPH a brand new NOBLE GTO came flying past covered in Pistonheads Stickers.
So followed him for about 100 Miles averaging about, well a tad more than advisable. pulled into the services turns out there had been a rally all over france, this last week DOH! He has also got a picture of the Porsche that was being pulled on to a low loader so if you read this (can't remember your name sorry) a picture posted would be great.
The Noble went on his way and then I got caught speeding 161KPH, Pulled me at the next Toll point and was told to pay a 90euro fine which I didn't have in cash and he wouldn't accept either cars or cheque. At which point was getting rather concerned, he took me into an office and told me to go on my why, no fine, no charge, didn't take any details. I guess I just must by the Jammiest B?!?!?D alive ( also I didn't have the lens thingies on - just never got around to working them out). Days mileage about 650 - 700.
The car - not one problem, totally over did it on spares but if I hadn't chances are I'd have need them. Stopped off at Walldonway TVR for a few bits/advice and the chap in servicing was a great help.
The French - Can't Drive for Toffee.
The Roads - a pleasure.
The reaction from the locals over there is tremendous, on the drive through Paris we couldn't stop laughing, with people almost having accidents to get a look, god knows what they'd make of a Tuscan.
I would reccomend this to anyone, in my opinion it's what owning this type of car is all about, anyone who's thinking about, Just Do It!

If I'd known, we could have met up - I must have missed you at Monaco by a day or two... I'd stayed over after Le Mans and took in 7 countries in 16 days. Best bit of driving for me was Cannes to St Raphael on the coast road, warm evening, sun setting, no traffic, roof off & music blareing... call me next time you go - I think Shnozz will join us too!!

The mountain drive from Grenoble was the Muts Nuts!
wasn't 'down' for me was over... came from Spain and all along the south coast - headed North afterwards via Milan & Zurich to get my Alpine Fix
let me know when we're leaving for the next one then...
