by pass hose

hi ihave just been give a 1275 engine to put in my mini but found that there is no where on the head for the by pass hose do i need it and can the water pump pipe be blocked off or how do i get by this thank david

Do u have the whole engine or just the head? If its just the head the get a new W/P from a metro with the by pass blocked off.

i got the complete engine but no water pump does it need the by pass what does it do thank you david

Just drill a couple of 5mm-ish holes in the thermostat and use the metro water pump without bypass hose,been running mine like this for ages with no problems.

Unless you're fitting a new water pump, just blank off the old one, but make sure it can't leak.
Just think, you'll never have that b****y by-pass hose fail ever again!
