Just thought of a genious Christmas present idea for my brother, who is a BBQ nut at the core.

He lives in an apartment with a small balcony and with bedrooms just above him, so he can't have a proper coal-fired BBQ as he doesn't want to upset the neighbours.

Is there such a thing as a smokeless BBQ that can also be used indoors? I realise nothing will taste as good as a proper coal-fired BBQ, but some compromise will be needed in this case.

Table-top teppanyaki grill?

With a long extension lead and a bit of ingenuity it could be used outside. If he doesn't have good ventilation / extraction it will stink the house out used indoors.

We have something similar to that. It's alright. We never use it though to be honest.

Can't believe nobody has invented an indoor BBQ with proper smoke reduction/absorbtion capabilities!
Come on Mr Dyson, stop faffing around with hand driers and build something useful!

If you're feeling flush, Neff used to do a built in BBQ gadget which can be installed under an extraction hood.

Have a search on the auction site for something similar - "Domino Barbeque Grill"

(this is the one I remember - http://skbb.co.uk/ourshop/prod_839533-NEFF-N64K30-...
