Insomnia - is this normal?
Discussion
You may be one of the lucky people who don`t require much sleep. I remember reading that Margaret Thatcher only needed 4hrs each night.
I`ve noticed over the years, I`ve gone from 8hrs to 7hrs (if I`m lucky).
I have a terrible time with sleeping!
Up until recently I`d cure it with 2 bottles of red. Now I`m exercising but that hasn`t cured it.
The problem with me is as soon as the lights go off and it`s quiet I start thinking about work or problems, anything! Just role playing them through my head.
Sometimes I`d be awake till 4am to get up at 7:30 -8am.
I`ve found an app on the iphone that helps. Can`t remember it`s name but it`s by a Scottish bloke called Andrew.... it helps me think about what he`s saying and not anything else. Although some nights I`ve listened to it/him 4 times on the trot!
Try it, it may help.
Or did what I did and just get tipsy each night! (joke!)

Zopiclone is just one out of ??? many sleeping tablets. Perhaps another one with a different substance might work better for you?many elderly people´s sleep pattern changes. When??? that differs. But you know, many of them make up for lost night sleep right after lunch;)
Not sure if I'm going to be any help, but I suffer similar sleepless nights and have no idea what to do about it.
Last three for example, go to bed at 10:30 and fall asleep fairly quickly (can be quicker if the Mrs helps
), wake up anywhere from 2am onwards and then that's it, brain is going bonkers thinking about work (I'm a business owner) and my day pretty much starts from then on.
I may sleep for a few minutes on the sofa but it's by no means good sleep. I've lived with it for such a long time and just assumed it's par for the course.
