are there any good restaurant around here, or is it just the chains?

£10 in a cab gets you to Limehouse. Try Veranda (indian) or La Figa (Italian).

Or hit Canary Wharf/Westferry Circus for Gaucho/Royal China/Boisdale.

thanks. However, I am coming from the west end so can eat there if there is nothing in the immediate vicinity of the o2 - which I doubt there is!

I seem to recall some good restaurants in the O2 itself. Gaucho grill is in there and is an excellent steakhouse

Gaucho is, of course, Gaucho; or for the same on a lesser budget wink there's a Harvester.

Personally I always seem to end up in Wagamama (not actually "in" the O2, it's about 200m from the entrance though - bear right from the tube.

Surprisingly the O2 website has a full list... http://www.theo2.co.uk/inside/bars-restaurants.htm...
