How much should I expect to pay for a first 1000 mile service?

Depends, but upto £1k as the valve clearances have to be checked

Arh I kind of thought it would be free, but I dont want to take it back to the suppling dealer, I have the option of taking it to the factory but have to wait till the 2nd of August when they sort out the warrenty work, or I can get it in earlier with another dealer in 2 weeks but will be £475 + VAT wich is fair enough as they did not sell it too em I guess. Trouble is ive gto 720 miles on the clock now and the nearest dealer is abot 150 miles, factory said it would be fine to do the first service at up to 1500 miles. Not sure what to do now.

Free or £80 depending on how tight your dealer is.

Editted to say I found the car pretty much couldn't go past 1000 miles as the tappets really, really needed adjusting to their proper clearances by then.

Mind you the chaps that can do it soonest for me said the valve clearances have to be checked/adjusted. They asked for the car the night before so the it had stood, I assume to get cold, foe at least 8 hours. That would account for the cost then.

The 1000 mile service is usually paid for by the manufacturer and can be carried out by any dealer. I do not understand why you should be charged for anything, other than oil, if you take it to any TVR dealer.

Unless you're taking it to a non franchised dealer and I certainly wouldn't do that.

sorry must have been too early when I first responded, I meant 6k service is about £600 not 1k service.

1k service is normally free.
Well it has been for me on my 3 previous 1k services

If it is a new car, or the rebuild was covered in full by TVR then the 1k service should be free, or some dealers will charge you for the oil

After that you have to pay, mine cost £353.99
