.. Seem to remember taking the exhaust off prior to lifting the body but I can't think of any good reason for not putting the system back on before chucking the body on.

Would imagine that's how they were done when built at the factory?

Handbrake lever and and cable refitting perhaps an issue with exhaust in place?
