Having just bought a Tuscan from a dealer in Edinburgh I was driving home at 80 .... ummm 70mph and the driver's door just opened. It acted as though the button had been pushed (ie the window rolled down and then it went 'click') and as the button is far away on the dash I know I didn't push it by accident.

Anyway, when I told the dealer he replied that this was a normal fault and that I was lucky as there are worse problems that the doors opening at high speeds!

Anyone else had this fault?

Same happened to me twice on M1, window dropped and door popped open on to 1st catch - needed one hand on door whilst coming to a halt just in case 2nd catch popped as well.

Gorners took vehicle back & fixed it - no hassle.

There's other threads about this if you want to do a quick search of the Tuscan forum. Try typing "Self opening doors (at speed)"

There was a mod on the early Tuscans to disable the the window opening switch from opening the door.

Perhaps a sharp word with the dealer is in order. --

He admits its a known fault, there is a solution, he sold it to you with this knowledge without fixing it...

!!!! very sharp words !!!!

Ask him what the other known faults are that are worse- GET HIM to fix them or SUE.

Geeesz, I hope this wasn't a TVR dealer, this was a safety mod done on the early cars. Have you got the front roof catch to stop the roof disappearing when you're going some ?

Cheers,

Andy.
