Recommend me a budget monopod

Have recently bought a bridge camera and am really enjoying taking photos. Decided to treat myself to a budget monopod (c.£25-30) and just wondered what people recommend?

So far, I was thinking the Manifrotto MMC3 would be a good choice as it is very small when the legs are contracted.

Going to sound stupid now but I thought the monopod just screwed into the thread on the bottom of the camera? I have a tripod with a QR head.

That L50 does look decent for the size it contracts too, thanks

Yeah you can, but a head is more versatile as it allows you to go into portait whereas you are limited to landscape when screwing into the base of the camera. Plus you can angle up/down rather than having to tilt the monopod, and it has a quick release

Ah, i see, of course. Just trying to decide between the Manifrotto MMC3 or Velbon L50. I assume heads are interchangeable between brands as they use a standard thread size?

Yes correct about the threadsize. Well I can't comment on either, I use a mid range Manfrotto this is well over your budget, most Jessops will stock the Manfrotto so you can try on any high street. Amazon do free returns too

My dad bought me a Camlink one which is sturdy enough to hold a chunky body and zoom and is very very tall, I'm 6'3 and am nowhere near the limits.
