Discussion
I've been mountain biking for a few months now (after about 14 years off) as the weather is getting worse I'm having more problems with slipping off the flat pedals I have fitted.
So I thought SPD's would be a good idea, but I have size 12/13 feet (yes ladies, big shoes and big socks), shimano are a total non starter because the biggest size they do is a 48 and they doesn't fit.
I need big shoes that take the cleats and have stiff soles and grip for clambering up hills for ideally around £100 as I'll need pedals too.
Any other makes that are for the larger gent?

Ever heard of Google?
Shimano do a size 50, 51 or 52 in the below and they're in stock

Not the most hardcore of shoes but beggars can't be choosers! I've had 2 pairs of Shimanos and love them, whereas my ancient Northwaves aren't in the same league quality wise.

Presuming you can find something in the right size, then consider the width as well.
Do you have wide feet or not? As a very general rule of thumb, different brands are different widths:
SIDI - Narrow
dhb - Average
Shimano - Average
Giro - Average
Lake - Average to wide
Northwave - Wide
SIDI mega - Wide
And yes... I really have tried them all! I think Mavic are narrow-average but I have not tried them.
Personally I use shimano, I find them great but it is a personal thing depending on your foot shape.
