This happened in Coventry, in one of the Council car parks where you get a ticket before entering ,then pay before getting out .Car park was full( and in this case ,machine won't give out ticket), so I waited for someone to come out .Fortunately ,I noticed that this was someone from one of the disabled spots . So I waited for for another to come out to find a non disabled spot .
So ,if the disabled bit wasnot visible ,I could have been allowed to get in to find park full to non disabled drivers .In my case -no problem ,as on Sundays it's £1 all day .But on weekdays - it could cost to get in and wait -or park in a disabled spot for the parking Gestapo to hit you .And bearing in mindthat this is a council park -it's cough up or else .

Blimey.

I've always thought you get a short 'free' period?
If not, your probably only talking a few minutes wait for a space to become available.
And if none do, it's only a bit of shrapnel to get you out, chalk it up under 'bugger', move on, enjoy your day!

You used to get a token amount of time free but I believe the council changed it...

1) no mention of free period .
2) what if the "short period is enough to put you into the next charge band
3) It's only £1 to get out .Multiply that by a lot of duped cars an thats a lot of "dubious " income"

It's time that the motorist stopped saying "chalk it up under 'bugger', move on, enjoy your day" and started to question this sort of prat cice-otherwise it'll become more prevalent .
