Just had to laugh over the last few days, I have seen the folowing motors with max-power type add-ons:

Trabant 601 (550cc 2-stroke) - spoilers front and rear, alloy wheels (shows off the drum brakes), tinted windows and a 'No Fear' sun visor strip.

Suzuki Wagon R+ with all the goodies, skirts and spoilers all round, baked bean can sized exhaust (you could still see the original inside), alloys (14") blue LEDs and green sidelights.

Lada 2107 Saloon, wider steel wheels, front and rear spoilers, twin exhausts and fancy paint job.

Why the hell do they bother, Trabby and Lada are just sh*t motors anyway, Suzuki Wagon = argh!!

Did make me laugh though.

what other idiocies have people seen?

Saw a Siecento with full bodykit, baked bean can exhaust and those funny bonnets that cover up part of the headlights (makes it look more wikkid innit).

Made me laugh out loud.

I've driven one of those things as a courtesy car, and it was the biggest POS I've ever driven.

Best one I've seen was a Fiat Panda brush painted white, with big white stickers covering the top half of all the windows, imitation 5 spoke alloy hub caps painted white and fake stick on bonnet cathes. I almost cried laughing at it. Pity I didn't have a camera with me.

Just last week saw Fiat Multipla. It was completely normal except for the new 18" alloys with rubber band tyres. Never thought it would be possible to make one of those look more ugly!

A few months ago I was having a beer with my mate in a pub, and I saw this bloke pull up in a white Clio with all the "necessaries" hanging off it. The thing that made me laugh though was the fact I noticed he had MUCH wider tyres on the rear than on the front.
This bloke came into his pub and was stood a few yards away from me when I heard him telling his mates the fatter tyres were to give it F1 handling?!

It's a front wheel drive car you p***k!!

Theres a fella who drives a Mondeo around Wimbledon who seems to have surpassed the bolt on bits and gone for a complete racing paint job, bean can exhaust and big wheels. The car looks completely standard otherwise, interior is standard ford velour etc etc but this paint job just has to be seen to be believed, it looks like a touring car, huge STP logos all across both sides.

Why?

Matt.

Saw a white metro recently - all the lights had been shrunk down by sticking white sticky tape on the edges, anything black or chrome - I'm guessing - had been covered up or painted white.

And it had a for sale sign in the window, priced well over £1000!!!

Hell yeah! I've seen that one, and it's horrid. I was hoping the inside would be stripped out and have a roll cage, but it was parked outside the office and was totally standard. God only knows why it was done...

I suppose we should be thankful that these kind of people can't afford to actually get themselves into a proper car with real power. Imagine if Nova boy had a 5 litre lump stuck on the other end of his fat exhaust instead of the 1.3 ltr - they'd be lethal - no, let them carry on being harmless and giving us a laugh!

Saxo with Scooby style rear spoiler (one of the big double decker jobs mind you) on the roof, in Bishops Stortford (Boltonboy central).

Hey Matt - when is it? Perhaps we could get a convoy of real cars going!

Its on the 12th to 14th of July

See www.maxpower.co.uk/maxlive2002/home.html for more info.

It would be very, very funny to see a load of TVRs/Ferrari's/Porkers parked up outside!

The cruise strip was also quite entertaining if you could ignore Jo Guest. AHHH I HATE THAT DIZZY BITCH. But some cars doing donuts etc. was quite funny.

Don't laugh too soon, there will be a really wildly customised Cerbera in the show....

An orange Capri and a Blackish Cortina, both with wide wheels, jacked up a bit at the back and with blacked windows. They drive round Nottingham oblivious to the admiring looks. A guy drives past the office in Derby most days in a pink Manta. It dosent get much better than that.

I am glad they are out there though, if we were all the same blah blah

Nice airhorns JSG

I remember about 10 years ago I pulled up next to a white Fiat Panda with 3 green stripes around it. I wound down the window and asked the guy in it if he had won it in a "Pacers" (Anyone remember those?)competition. With a deadpan look he answered "Why yes, Looks good don't you think?" It's the first time I've been left at the lights by a Panda but I couldn't see the road with the tears of laughter in my eyes. My 3 mates who were in the car at the time couldn't move with laughter.
