Exhaust question for the GTV owners out there
Discussion
Just got my first GTV V6, absolutely love it and after too much time spent on Youtube would like it to be a little more vocal, but without being uncouth on a steady throttle, pootling around town, not going for it etc
Looking at Regazzon options, has anyone any experience of the below?
This one appears to replace the backbox with a pipe:

vs. this one on the other hand has a full backbox:

..any points of view on whether option A (with an otherwise standard system) would be *too* loud for day to day use? Has anyone got one? How loud is it?
If anyone has any degree of experience of either and can help that'd be appreciated - all the Youtube links I've seen have been cars with more mods than just the straight through rear box.
Cheeers!

Have experience of a gtv with 2 x twin outlet DTM Ragazzon pipes, stainless steel with very small silencers coupled with a straight through centre pipe. After the initial novelty value wore off it began to grate. Round town and at 40mph it was very boomy and used to set car alarms off, sounded fantastic at the top end though! Another one I had just had the Ragazzon centre pipe with a standard back box, this was actually a nice compromise, it didn't look or sound modded - just slightly deeper on idle and more melodious on the move. Can't comment on the single Ragazzon back box, remember having a 156 V6 with one on (I used to deal in Alfas) which sounded fairly tame yet a Twin Spark was very boomy.
I've got a ragazzon back box and removed the one behind it, so there's a less restrictive curve all the way through to the centre silencer. It's on a twinny not a V6 though. Not particular pleasant on throttle at 50-60mph, surprisingly silent above 70mph. Sounds absolutely divine above 4500rpm.
If I was to do it again I would use alfaholics instead. 1) The UK dealer didn't have the exhaust on the shelf and it took 2 weeks and an apology from ragazzon before it finally arrived; even then, it was a round exhaust (think scooby like) rather than a more discrete oval shape 2) Alfaholics had their stainless steel freeflow system on the shelf and was pretty much the same cost 3) the alfaholics version wouldn't be quite so uncomfortable at 60mph.

I never got around to changing the exhaust on my GTV, but it was a touch too quiet and never felt like it was breathing as well as it could do with a different setup. I was recommended the Alfaholics system. It does sound absolutely fantastic on the videos, not as "ricer" as the full Ragazzon systems, for the want of a better word. They aren't cheap mind, over £1100 for the full system IIRC.
I know 'Holy thread resurrection Batman', but just to complete this thread – which I've only just spotted – I had the straight through rear Ragazzon pipe as in the OP's first link. That left my 3.0 GTV with just one silencer in the mid section. Was the best money I ever spent as it sounded amazing, and definitely not too loud or boy racer... wish I'd done it years before I actually did. Alfa Aid in maidenhead sourced and fitted it for me.

To chime in further, it does seem to be that the centre section is the one that makes the most difference to volume.Personally I got a bit excited so ended up with the unsilenced Ragazzon rear and the small silenced Ragazzon centre section.
It's perhaps a little obnoxious, I wouldn't want to do an early morning commute in it for my neighbours' sake, but on the road I don't find it a problem, although it is a bit boomey when gently accelerating around cruising speeds (so say > 10% throttle around 2,000rpm). Very light or zero throttle it's quiet enough, and obviously higher up the rev range it sounds glorious.
It has a meaty idle too, to be honest one that 220bhp doesn't really back up

True! But a 3.0 GTV and aftermarket exhaust has to be one of the cheapest ways to get an amazing sounding exhaust surely?? Is there a better option out there for under £5k? And I'm talking about buying a GTV AND the exhaust!
