You should only buy roasted beans in a quantity you will use in a fotnight. They go off quickly. I go through about 1kg every two weeks.
I keep them in the freezer, I thought this lengthened the keeping time..As said, small quantities of beans in an airtight container works best. I get my beans from the local deli, but if I'm passing whittards I'll usually buy a 50:50 mix of java and mocha which is a nice blend.

Yes they do. Give them a ring and they will arrange it. While you are at it, it's always worth asking their recommendation as to what is good at the moment. They know their stuff!Don't freeze beans, it doesn't do them any favours. You are far better to keep them at room temperature in an airtight container. I was astonished how much difference it made when I changed from freezing them.

They don't grind as well when you keep them in the freezer. They same to freeze the condensation on them when you take them out and just feel wrong.

You may be right - but I've been freezing and keeping beans for up to a month or so without problems or noticeable deterioration. As said, small quantities of beans in an airtight container works best. Coffee gives off carbon dioxide over a period of time after roasting. Oxygen goes the other way into the bean, causing it to go off. Slow this down and your coffee will stay fresh longer. If the beans are vacuum bagged straight after roasting, the carbondioxide that the beans give off in the bag keeps the oxygen out. As co2 is heavier than o2, keep the beans in the bag, as the co2 will stay in there, stopping o2 getting in. Keep the bag in a cool place. I roast my own to ensure maximum freshness

Presumably you don't use them for a week or so after roasting though?
