Hi all,

Was on my way out last night to watch the match when my brake warning light started to flicker. Thought at first something was jamming under the hand brake? Come to park the car and could not find reverse.

Presumed at first that the fluid must be down. Checked the level appeared to be fine (could TVR put the reservoir in a worse place!) Set off back home then at a Major junction pointing up hill the clutch went!

Towed the car home (clutch doing nothing) I am sure the problem is fluid related? Anyone any ideas?

If your clutch pedal has no resistance I would guess the slave cylinder seals have gone(located in the gearbox bell housing so gets hots, seals deterioate with time....).

Cheers,

Andy.

Had a similar experience.Brake light started flickering- parked car in garage and the next morning I noticed a small amount of fluid on floor under gear box.Rubbers gone in master cylinder - took 1 week to fix.Was still under warranty so no charge for me.

Had my slave cylinder replaced a few week's ago & was completed in one day.Seems to be a common problem on a lot of TVR's.

Yep, sounds like slave or master cylinder.
