Peak District B&B for walking in December
Discussion
Hello!
I want to go away to the Peak District for a long weekend of walking at the very start of December with the OH. We're trying to do it on a budget – B&Bs. We're going up on Friday and coming back Monday, leaving the weekend for actual walking. We'd like to stay in a town or village that's got a bit of life to it, with pubs and restaurants, but also want some nice hills to walk during the day.
I've been looking at the Hope valley and Edale, but I was wondering if there are any other gems I'm overlooking? Our budget is about £60-80 a night for the both of us, which seems to be fine for most B&Bs.
Ta!

Maybe on the limit of your budget, but we stayed here in Sept. Couple of pubs in the village, several walks right from the B&B. Great hosts, breakfast was lovely.

A bit over budget but really good IMO and only 10 mins walk into Hathersage.

Or a little cheaper

Or try somewhere in Bakewell which is busier with a good selection of pubs and restaurants.
There's loads of walks that you can do from Bakewell and there are also good cycle routes.
I stayed here

a few years ago and its was pretty good. Its at the lower end of your budget but the accommodation was clean, the breakfast was very good (taken on a big shared table) and the owner is a top bloke.
