Correct/Best size for track tyres such as 888's

Just curious, since buying the 3R early this year, there as always been a bit of a problem on full lock i.e. it will catch on the inner arch when parking etc. The sizes fitted are 888's Fr 235/40/18 Rr 285/30/18 to bigger tyres? or is it norm for fitting such as 888's.
Ill be getting a set of Protech shocks soon followed by a full geo set-up ready for next year, Since owning the M12 i have always found it twitchy/light at the front, more so when giving it some down a bumpy B road, Just doesn’t seem as planted as it should be, Tyres? Geo? Shocks?

Not sure if its right or not Steve but my front tyres have always rubbed the inner arch on full lock. I think my tyres are the same size as yours but bridgestones

They are oversized tyres !!!! The STD size is 225 on the front and 265 on the rear !!!! Would explain why they ate catching :-)

265/35 is standard on the rears. IMO 275/35's are a better option.

I made this mistake, i put 235's on the front, bad idea, they rub, 285's on the rear should be fine though as long as you are not running more than 2 deg neg camber.
Putting 235's on the front also really crapped up the handling.

I know i was stating the obvious re: the tyre size and it catching :-) just wonder why he went for the bigger tyres? maybe just bad advice?
I am tempted to maybe put some road tyres on it, as the 888's are really noisy (The wife moans about em), maybe Toyo Proxe T1R's, just wondering how they would cope with 450ish BHP? Or if i was going to replace the Front 888's with the correct size and leave the bigger back 888's??
Re: the Protech's hopfully this side of christmas? still waiting for V8Developments to complete the engine build and give me a bill :-( & hopfully leave ne enough money to buy a Turkey as well as the shocks :-)

The R888 are very noisy and the same reason i swapped them, i put on PS3's, they grip very well wet and dry, they are very quiet and comfortable, but what a massive difference on feel, the R888's i could feel what was going on, with the PS3s its like somebody has injected the car with novocaine.

I have run 235's for ages and have no handling problems at all....
I also have had the lock stops adjusted so that the tyres don't rub.
I have had the camber etc adjusted too though..

get the geo setup and it will be a totally different car... rubbing on full lock is std when you fit the wider 235's on front.
M400's and some 3r's had the steering column lock limited to prevent it.

Just had a look at the post (front wheel catching on throttle cable) it seems a few have the 235's on the front... Is there any real gains re: handling/road holding to the 225's just seems a bit of hassle for the ones that catch and the lack of lock if there isnt any real gain?

I use R888's & keep to the standard sizes 225 Front / 265 Rear. As for any gain in going wider l think not, if you really want better grip then it's more about Geo, Dampers & setup.
