I know you can still buy Revels, and in each pack you get a varied selection of different sweeties:

Orange cream
Malteser
Toffee
Raisin?

And now the object of my confusion - you also get disc shaped ones made of solid chocolate, kind of like a Minstrel without the hard shell.

I'm sure I remember being able to buy whole packets of these little solid chocolate disc shaped sweets, but cannot for the life of me remember the name.

Can the PH collective please help?

Well they do Minstrels without the shell, called Counters hehe

Maybe you're thinking of Buttons?

No Buttons are 'half disc' shaped - i.e. with a flat bottom, these were more flying saucer shaped biggrin

Hmm not sure sorry,

The hardest thing i cant find is a toffee bonbon like they used to be, they are either hard like boiled sweets or all soft like hard marshmellow (McCowens)

Need to find a nice floured sweet thats soft but with a chewy toffee middle,

Cant find any frown

Yup, I'm not sure if they were originally called Galaxy Counters, but they're back out now called that.

Actually, looking here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revels_(confectionery... it looks like Counters is the answer, I knew I remember buying whole packets of them!

I also remembered Peabut Revels, hence my confusion, didn't know they had been bumped for Raisins - bad move IMHO.

Interesting group amnesia about the coffee creams.

Agree on the raisins being a retrograde step though - not keen on them at all.

I've often wondered with Revels, If seemingly everyone doesn't like the coffee ones why dont they just drop them and put something nice in like strawberry or peanut?

Same reason they don't change the recipe on Marmite, maybe make it less harsh, so it appeals to a wider audience.

No marketing gimmick.

Marmite - "It's ok, but it's not my thing though"

Arghhhh !!!!!!

I've wondered the answer to this for years. I used to love them. Dunno if they were called Counters or not. But my memory recalls them being in a white packet with a yellow camel on it ??

Bizzare: I didn't recognise the first picture at all, but as I scrolled down to the owl.... "Oh yeah!"

I notice the price had risen by 33% at that point so maybe the others were just a little too old for me?

I do hate Revels, because I like eating the chocolate, orange creme and malteser ones, but then I never know when I might get a raisin one yuck
