Well.....they've started again for another year. Our 9 year old Collie Cross simply hates them. She'll growl and woof etc etc. She doesn't cower and seem scared, more cross at the bangs and whistles.
We do the usual things, keeping her close, distracting her as much as we can but they just go on for so long and over so many days it's a struggle.
Any wise words of advice about keeping her calm and untroubled?

My little Cairn hates the noise/light .Personally I'd like to find the people ( more like yobs setting them off at random before Nov 5) and insert said firework in rear oricace , light and shove up . I've seen him almost bounce off the rear fence . We now only let him out the back on the lead to pee.
It's high time with all the HSE concerns that only organised displays were allowed .The law allows for policing of firework offences - but with cutbacks ,can we see it being enforced .

Last night there were a lot of fireworks due to Diwali
Yep - time HMG started looking at the rights of the majority to live in peace ,without stress to kids and pets from the thoughtless minority .Or in other words , ban the sale/unlicenced setting off of fireworks and make all displays an organised, licenced event .But the big bucks of the fireworks industry shout louer than the few distressed pet owners Gassing Station | All Creatures Great & Small | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
