Where to go for Christmas . . . . Warm / Pool / no People!
Discussion
All,
Like many others, we’ve now come to the conclusion that our families are populated almost entirely with people whose eccentricities are so extreme that we’d rather spend the Christmas holiday season somewhere with a healthy gap between us and them, where the likely hood of either of us being shot, stabbed or hit in the face by a turkey being hurled across the room by somebody in a fit of pique, is minimal.
Despite my best efforts, my investment in the Euro millions has so far not been that profitable, which has lead to an embarrassing lack of large holiday home or yacht in the sun . . . . . . . .the benefits of course are that we can escape without people knowing where to turn up to, so that they can ruin the peace and quite
So, the question is:
Does anybody have any suggestions for a location where I can rent a secluded property, with a decent pool (heated or somewhere warm enough) little in the way of people and a decent internet connection. . . .all within a day of the sunny northwest of England
Answers and suggestions on a post card please
PS. Have already got somebody on here to house sit

Would you consider long-haul, or similar? Forget the renting, go for a week in e.g. Caribbean, Egypt, Thailand...
(I won't say Dubai as IMHO it's an over-priced shallow sh'thole with a thin veneer of pseudo-class layered over the top by the excessive application of aforementioned money.)

Dubai is like that but it is warm and sunny in December too.(I won't say Dubai as IMHO it's an over-priced shallow sh'thole with a thin veneer of pseudo-class layered over the top by the excessive application of aforementioned money.)
I'm sure you'll get some good ideas here, and I personally have nothing to add aside from to say that the first paragraph of your post made me do a 'LOL'
Actually I do, a mate went to Egypt at this time of year and was astonished to learn that it got dark really early, just like here!
I would and am thinking about long-haul - Emirates London to Bangkok is still hovering around the £650 mark, which over Christmas I think is quite reasonable...
