Since theres no Qualifying on tonight till 12pm, bloody football, here are the Quali results in case you want to know sooner.

1 R Barrichello 1:10.223
2 M Shumacher 1:10.400
3 T Sato 1:10.601
4 J Button 1:10.820
5 JP Montoya 1:11.062
6 R Shumacher 1:11.106
7 K Raikkonen 1:11.137
8 O Panis 1:11.167

Apparently Renault a dreadful session, Alonso was 9th and Trulli had a gearbox problem.

And Coulthard is down in 12th, not really unfamiliar territory for him these days

What annoys me is when the qualifying was actually happening at 7pm our time all ITV were showing was a program called "Best Ever Hidden Camera Stunts 2"

Yet again saturday night telly pandering to the lazy couch potato 'family' eating their McChavs nutritionally inadequate dinner, needing their brainwashing fix of soporifically crass rubbish.

TV is the new religion - control of the (uneducated/ unthinking/unquestioning) masses.

They couldn't have shown F1 at the peak viewing time anyway because the rules are too complicated. Quickest round the track is pretty difficult stuff!

ITV have traditionally not shown qualifying for the North American races live. Saturday is usually allocated to "two brain cell max" TV viewers.

Don't blame the football - I like it and last night's game was the best of the European Championships so far. At least it's sport and not some brain rotting "reality" or "idol" type nonsense.

Sorry to gloat but the coverage here in the US was exceptional. I guess Bernie has a word in the shell like of the team owners who suddenly feel inclined to invite the cameras into their garages for 'world' exclusives.

We had a behind the scenes tour of the Ferrari garage culminating in the mechanics lifting the engine cover off the race car for the camera's to poke around in (hope Ron remembered to set his video for that one!) and BAR showed off their composite gear box assembly (ditto...). Fantastic stuff.

Oh yes, every session was shown as well.

Oh, and another good thing, the GP's are generally on about 8 in the morning due to the time difference so you can watch it in bed with some breakfast and not get earache from the other half about spending the better part of a weekend planning around where to watch the GP!

I'll stop now
