What I've been told ( and there was a lot!) is as follows in essence
1 - The wildcat lottery required payment via paypal and when they found out it was a lottery they stopped it as it infringed their rules, the money was frozen and can be recovered by those who paid from Paypal
2 - Al Melling is developing a single seater championship for 2013 with BARC it's on the MCD website. He also wants to do an LMP2 car
3 - There are plans to build wildcats and market in the UK under limited type approval. There was an attempt to get it done in Portugal but the consultant used apparently didn't live up to expectations........
4 - No point in asking the Portuguese for money - they're skint
Peninsular Motorsport at Portimao have a little Melling museum/display which is quite interesting

It's a pot of ringfenced German money (about E500m remaining) that was given to Portugal to fund tourist development projects. The fund expires in 2013 and any remaining funds are returned to the EU.
The fact that a little museum has been set up to attract tourists and they are talking about targets of 2013 just makes me think that they could be making an application for some of this free money.
Anyone down in Portugal will know all about QREN.

Undeniable talent and self promotion abilities but given his previous track record of failed businesses I don't hold out much hope for this venture.
Maybe this is the time he proves us all wrong....?
I note he's 'currently evaluating the use of this engine for LMP2 use at Le Mans.'
Does he have the rights to build the AJP8 engine or is he on dodgy ground right from the start?

Whilst i'd like to think I don't believe everything I read on the net.... this just seems like a load of s

Still headquartered in the North West of the UK, Al is now in partnership with Phil Egginton and Beverley Ellison. They have established the R&D centre for MCD at the the Autodromo do Algarve in the beautiful and sunny south of Portugal."
Looking at the business partners they seem to mostly do detailing and sign printing. And where is the HQ that's still in the UK?
MCD Website: "We have designed successful engines, transmission and suspension systems for many of the worlds leading motorsports and vehicle manufacturers.... clients include Jaguar.
MCD have a history of providing succesfull expert witness and technical expert services. Al Melling provided technical witness to disgruntled owners of the Jaguar XJ220 model.
Nice way to burn a bridge?
Oh, and all the waffle on the page about the hellcat with "at least 275mph"..."should we make this car.. let us know!" it's all bks and I just hope that no-one parts unfamiliar with this tt parts with any money.
