This seems expensive, but then prices seem to be all over the place. (i'm not looking in case any one asks). I know the quality of these can vary a lot ( chassis done or not done for example) but even then the price seems vary a lot.
Anybody think they have bought a bargain or been ripped off or is a car worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it?

I believe you're right. I reckon £6,500 isn't an unreasonable private asking price for a mint low mileage late S3, and if you add another £500 - £1,000 for a dealer sale you're getting a bit closer to £9k, but not that close! Graham
from the tvr dealers i know £2000 is there mark up to allow for overheads etc
if its a good clean car selling for £6500 - 7000 private sale then its not far off
may seem alot but there isn't to many clean s3's out there , and if you want a clean
looked after model with money been spent on it to maintain it in good condition
you'll have to pay for it

As others have said don't devalue the cars, I recently sold my 91 S3c with just over 50k on the clock, I advertised it for literally just under £6k and got only a couple of hundred less for it, but back to the original topic, is that S3 worth £3k more ? probably not, but people will pay more for a car that they forcast will not need much money spending on it.
