Unless I'm miss reading this, someone has noticed that if you actually give the patients the medicine they are prescribed in Hospitals then they actually get better - in the very least they don't die!
Apparently the culture of "holding people to account" works! Would this be the same "holding people to account" culture that so many public sector workers in my acquaintance find so "challenging, demeaning, pressurising and an insult to their professional integrity" (a verbatim quote from a friend of mine who is a nurse)

I can confirm, from extensive research (i.e. time Unless I'm miss reading this, someone has noticed that if you actually give the patients the medicine they are prescribed in Hospitals then they actually get better - in the very least they don't die!

I agree with the NHS operating a no blame culture that does not seek to punish honest mistakes. My Mother's life ended earlier than it should have due to a mistake by a nurse, but it was a genuine accident and nothing would be gained by holding her to account.
However, people must be held to account for doing their jobs properly, delivering all the prescribed meds to all patients should be the bare minimum required to be considered effective.

No real news today then.
Not sure why you posted this? Are you suggesting that research suggesting it would be possible to save up to 16000 patients lives per year by encouraging NHS staff to do their job properly and holding them to account is not news worthy?
