Afternoon Everyone

On Wednesday the Mrs and I went to Thorpe Park for the day. While on one of the rides my head got flung about a bit and I tensed my neck muscles to stop it. After getting off the ride I had a slight pain on the right side of my neck going down into my shoulder. I figured I had just pulled a muscle so continued to go on the other rides throughout the day.

On Thursday and Friday the pain had gotten a bit worse and my neck was quite stiff to move, however last night and today the pain has been quite bad to the point where I'm scared to turn my head from side to side in case it hurts. My mate suggested to me earlier that I might have a bit of whiplash. If this is the case is there anything I can do about it or is it just a case of waiting for it to calm down by itself?

I have been taking a couple of Ibuprofen to try and ease the pain but they are doing nothing at all.

Cheers

Sammo

Blimey, it used to be a way of life for me. Most times, I don't know how I did it.

REGULAR ibuprofen and paracetamol, warm compress (hot water bottle/wheatgerm bag), gentle massage of the area but above all MOVE YOUR NECK!!! The more you hold your neck stiff the more painful it is going to get.

It always get worse before it gets better, keep active and don't spend long periods of time sat in the chair or on a computer.
