Currently we have 2 dogs, one is German shep/ridgeback which, along with her brothers and sisters were slung at the side of the road in a pillowcase. Sasha was found roaming the streets one night 5 years ago - she is staffy/doberman. Both dogs are awesome and you can't imagine anyone letting either of them go.
We have been looking at puppies, we don't want an accessory or a status symbol. We like the idea of giving a dog a better home but my wife says that two is enough. Our house is big enough for another dog (big or small), we walk them daily and try to limit the time they spend on their own by splitting our rotas and days off.

we've got three black labs (12,10 and 10 months) - worked on the principle that when you've got two, the third doesn't make much difference - obviously didn't quite work out that way as we got a puppy, but never regretted it in the slightest.

I have four, it was only meant to be three but the swines at the rescue kennels put a gorgeous lurcher in the cage next to the greyhound I had agreed to have and she made me take her as well.

My uncle had two staffies that grew up together for years and sadly one passed away around 8 months ago.

He started looking at staffy pups and found 2 of sepereate litters and similar ages and just couldn't say no to them, cue three dogs.

Then he started to volunteer at a dog's trust sanctuary and fell in love with another staffy cross and ended up with 4 dogs for a short while before the original older dog found it all too much and at 13 called it a day.

Although that wasn't after a good couple of months with 4 mad mutts roaming his house and he absolutely loved it, I expect working at the dog's trust it won't be long before he finds another.

Do it OP thumbup you won't regret it!

After a few days they will be playing together. It may also take a few days of the puppy getting told to f**k off in doggy language if she keeps bouncing after Jess in a "let's play" kind of way..... IME.

She is beautiful!

I think the definition of 'enough' varies individually, we went from 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, lost one, 3-5 and recently 5-6. As long as you can provide financially and do right by the dogs in terms of attention and exercise I think having more dogs can be incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.

So long as you've got space, time and love, no number is too many.yes
I once had three German Shepherds, I have a friend who has three Ridgebacks and a Great Dane. The Dane has a head like a horse.
