I'm going down to Norwich for a couple of days next week to deliver some training, therefore am staying overnight.

Can anyone recommend anything to see or do while i'm down there? Or will i be better off sitting in my hotel room watching tv? smile

Hmmm, it has some lovely parts to it and some great pubs and restaurants but when I used to go there for work I just ended up going for a meal, a couple of pints and then bed. I just didn't get time to have a decent look around.
Maybe a resident can give you more info.

I can recommend the Coach & Horses on Thorpe Rd, just up from the station if you're into your beer.

Bugger off the lot of you

Castle pub near the station, gay pub, you'll love it

On the odd chance you're not gay, plenty of good pubs and places to eat

and we've got herons and fish and stuff

What exactly would one do in any another other city whilst on their own? go to the library?

Norwich has some fantastic pubs. The Fat Cat, Take 5, Rumsey Wells.

Could do in Norwich; the library is in an interesting building at least, and you might see BBC TV people about.

Take 5 is good. And as GreatGranny mentioned, Coach and Horses (I used to live close by).

I was just a kidding, there's plenty of things to do.
Try burning the place to the ground.

Ignore the turnip haters! I miss Norwich frown
As said, great pubs (something about one for each day of the year at some point, and a church for every week), and restaurants, also good shopping, but oodles of history too.

The castle is good, especially to try on the chain mail and check out the dungeons, also Dragon Hall, the cathedral and cloisters are very impressive and in the evening there are always some top bands/music somewhere. Of which I failed to appreciate enough until I moved to Cambridge and then Swindon.......

I hear that there is a lot of inbreeding up there, you may want to join in with their daily shenanigans ;-)

norwich is a pretty nice place, Lived there 20 years and it was a great place to be. I revisited 3-4 years ago and it seems to have gone a bit downhill - like most other places in the UK. its lost a little of its charm. nice place for a few days
