Heard Wind of change on the radio the other day, not heard it in years - top tune, very positive about what would of been an interesting time for the Russians.

For Poodle Perm they really were heavy, In Trance was a blinder of an album

Not sure I could pin down a best album, I prefer the heavier stuff though. Acustica is a good soft rock album though.

I love the Sonata Arctica version. When I have a car with some sort of USB wizardry, Scorpions will feature heavily on there.

Earlier Scorpions' stuff for me.

Crying Days is definitive Scorps. UJR's soaring guitar, great vocal harmonies, everything - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpbuxJzShaQ

More: Yellow Raven - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpbuxJzShaQ

Just found this '74 recording on YT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBVu_NZ3qHo

And even earlier - '72 with a 16yo Michael Schenker - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nTGTCSGj30

The Scorpions are on their retirement tour so better see them whilst you still can.

I dunno - when a band gets to a certain age (old) and voluntarily decide to call it a day I think it is pretty ominous.

They are all fairly old - Klaus is 63 so even if they had 5 year break I imagine his performance levels would decline significantly by then.
