Chinese Pineapple Bun / Polo bun help please?

My youngest loves it, my middle son initially wouldn't eat it because he thought it had pineapples in it and my eldest is desperate to make it... 

I've found a few recipes, but only this one or maybe this look approachable, but still in need of conversion. 

Has anyone made this before and have a UK recipe or one at least I/he can decipher?
