Why not do it yourself? Apparently its quite easy to do. My m8 has done it, i'll see whats needed.

Thanks Johnny but I am technically inept and wouldn't trust myself!

We`ve just done it to my Dad`s 2008 A6 Avant, it`s fairly straightforward. The best bit of advice I can give you is order the loom you need from Germany, cost us £87 against £396 from Audi UK eek

I would have thought McTom-Tom would be the best value for money?

At circa £150 or less for a good one TomTom Start 25 with speed camera data I cannot understand why folk bother with expensive "factory fit" ones with mega expensive updates

If you really dont trust yourself and want to go down the factory fitted route why not try audio advice in hillington?

I am in Edinburgh but anywhere in the central belt is possible. These guys http://www.oemretrofits.co.uk/satnav-audi.shtm will fit one for £500 all in which seems very good - but are down south and I was wondering if there was an equivalent up here smile

I would definately use Skidz in Falkirk. For audio stuff i wouln't even bother looking elsewhere. I just bought some winter tyres for my audi from them this week, infact i bought new summer tyres from them a few months ago too. They beat everyone on price, even my tyres, camskil etc.

Craig the owner is a really decent guy, he won't sell you anything you don't need and you will get honest advice from him. Tell him that Kenny from the gym sent you and said that your prices will be really good. He'll either give you a good deal or start laughing!!

Gents - thanks for all the comments but I have established (from another thread on the Audi forum) that it is crackingly expensive to retrofit the nav on a B8 A4/S4 - I had seen a price for a B7 which was ok - so I doubt I will be taking it any further!

good choice. paying over the odds for a oem one is nuts. I just use google maps on my android phone and one of the many free speed camera detectors apps smile
