I know, yet another "what mixer" thread rolleyesbiggrin Need to know what the mx-5 of food mixers is. My Wife wants something for mixing the goo for cakes and pastry etc. for her birthday. Nothing fancy, just good quality. Max budget is £100.

For that price (ish) you should be able to get and entry level Kenwood or Krups. Both have a decent enough reputation AFAIK.
