What are the differences between the standard C4 and C4S?

Thanks

C4S is wide bodied, weighs more, has turbo brakes, lot of vents etc, but no extra power. As a result it's a bit OTT and slower than a standard Carrera 2. Some people like it as it looks like a Turbo though.

Also, the C4S has sound pack option, stainless steel, door sills, turbo look alloys, electric drivers seat, lowered suspension, porsche stability control. I think if you want the extras, the C4S is better value for money than the C4.

Thanks for that. I was leaning towards a C2 as the lower weight and RWD only appeals to me but wanted to check what the C4S was all about. Also, I haven't excluded a 993tt either yet as it would seem feasible that one could be picked up for a similar price to a newish 996 C2. I am test driving a boxster S this week so will see how that goes but I think that the Cerb has got to be swopped for a 911.

I reckon you will squeeze into a RHD 993TT for your money - there should even be one or two floating around the main dealer network, so Porsche Finance may be able to help.

After the Cerb, I can't help thinking this is the best bet.

PS If you can stretch your budget by a few more pounds, a little birdy told me that a rare 993 Turbo S (450 bhp) is arriving at Northway Porsche soon. V exclusive and as quick as any Tuscan or Cerb 4.5.

I think Lee could tell you a thing or two about the 996 C4S as he had one, albeit for a couple of weeks before he got the turbo!

He might still have the C4S for sale.

Very interesting, might look into this. Still got to get rid of the Cerb but its goes on brokeridge at a Tiv dealer this week for a very reasonable price so with a bit of luck I will soon be free to buy a 911.

The Turbo S is coming in from one of Ray Northway's mates and is a bit special - privileged information and well-worth acting on, so fingers x-ed re disposal of the Cerb :-)

yes, at www.northwayporsche.co.uk if I remember, but this car is *coming in* and isn't on the website yet. It is worth chatting to Ray himself if you are serious. His number is 01734 714333.
