My Dads new V8S + a few questions

After months of my dad thinking about what weekend toy to buy westfields/tr6/stag/z1 etc etc and many conversations i suggested to him on monday a Tvr s he ummed he aaarrd said no and after a day stated looking at v6 S's when i then said about a v8 one, well after a phone conversation last night and a meeting today he now owns a V8s and im really glad as he has a massive smile on his old face lol
I drove the car home for him and i have to say its a deff a treat and perfect for what he wants and the sound wow addictive lol
Just had a phone call of him currently sitting in the garage having a cigar and coffee looking at his new toy not sure his mrs will enjoy this obsession as much.
Ive taken a few pics if any of you guys want a look, but i have a few questions is anyone can help
How many RHD v8's were made ?
Car water temp sits on white line and creaps into red when in traffic then fans cut in is this normal and all ok.
Should the car have central locking ?
Electric windows are slow is this normal ?
Can anyone recommend a fitted cover ?
Front orange indicator is cracked does anyone know what indicator it is ?
Is there sutch a thing as a manual or book for the v8 S ?
Im sure there will be many more questions in time lol

Your dad has a peach of a motor there. I don't have a V8 but can answer some of the questions;
Slow windows - Welcome to our world.
Central locking - I am pretty sure the answer is no (Especially not relevant with the roof down most of the time)
Ref manual - We have a thing called the Steve Heath bible - others can advise where to get this - Good book, but also a number of web sites that the other guys can link you to.
Indicator lenses - !!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to our world - again
Apart from the two issues above, most of the time with S's is just about smiling. Great cars, great value for money, and great bunch of people

Firstly nice car saw it in the classifieds. Temp activity is normal. If its as good as the add described you have got a beauty. Great bunch on here and SEARCH field will guide you through most niggles which seem to crop up repeatedly. Failing that plenty of advice available. What's the under bonnet and chassis like. More pics please.

Worth doing a pressure test of the cooling system. Radiators can fail in the bottom corners - has it got blue crystal like deposits? (Anti freeze).
I have a pressure tester and every car I've tested has had some issue or other.
I have a pump up tester I bought from the states (when $1=£1 it was cheap even with shipping) but alternatives are available - best bet is to have a look on ebay.
Just had a look myself - this is the exact one I have although I also have a carrying case and an adaptor to test radiator caps. It's a cracking bit of kit I'm going to email the seller and ask him for commission now I've advertised it for him!

Great so temp seems normal, it's got a receipt for a new rad not long ago which is good.
Just needs a few it's sorting under the hood but only cosmetic + the much needed red bull can lol
Not sure if the central locking is worth looking into or not could end up causing more problems
Just read only 410 v8s ever made wow knew it was rare but that is rare
It's only done 36k so cam wear etc should be any years away I hope

I dont believe that any S Series ever had central locking as a factory fit but have seen it retro fitted.
Slow windows normanl.

I do get batches of Indicator lenses from time to time when I have orders for at least 6 - 8 not cheap at £40 each and I would always recommend ordering in pairs for a colour match. They are available in clear smoked and amber

Slow windows - Check the felt has not worn away on window channel rubbers. I replaced mine and they made a lot of difference. Got the rubbers from woolies.
Also swap the passenger and driver switch. The driver one gets most use and the contacts can get a bit pitted and burnt as they are tiny but are expected to handle a lot of current (esp if the felt has worn or the mechanism is stiff). If the cause is the switch then they can be obtained.
