RX8 Fuel Consumption

To all RX8 drivers, thinking of getting 1 how many miles to the gallon do you get on average?

Town driving I used to average 17mpg. Motorway around 24-25 IIRC.

We had ours for 4 years, only did about 15k miles in it, averaged about 20mpg.

I fill up on just below qtr tank normally don’t chance waiting for the fuel light this is normally around 51 litres or 11 gallons. I find I have normally covered approximately 260 to 300 miles at this point, so is around 25mpg. It can be higher but is very rarely lower. Sometimes I think because the rx8 is worse than average its poor fuel economy is made out to be even worse than it really is. My car has all new ignition components, I believe failing coil packs for example can have a really detrimental effect on economy on a rotary (in addition to wear to the engine and cat).

When I had my RX8 I used to get about 260 miles to a tank no matter how I drove it

Same here, I did manage 350 miles just as the fuel light came on the once but that was a steady 60mph journey on the motorway

Same - creep around = 260miles... drive it properly = 260miles...ish

I normally get the same as the rest of you around the 25mpg but last year whilst playing in the highlands I managed to consume an entire tank in 150 miles. That equates to 14 mpg

I had my 192 from new and never got over 230 miles to a tank, usually 200 miles and going atleast 20 miles with the light on.
