I didn't have to wait (weight?) long for his inevitable comment.

"I'm 100 per cent sure that if I was blond with Caucasian skin type nobody would have noticed and said anything about it, but I am of dark skin complexion and from Iran and I'm sure that is related to it."

Yeah, because in the UK we have a real problem with blond suicide bombers.

Running with a weight vest can be bad for your knees, especially running on concrete and pavement.

Mind you, Norway has had some issues with blondes recently.

Why is this a story? Man looks dodgy, turns out not to be dodgy, man let go.

I believe his knees are fine. He does, however have a shoulder condition - involving a large chip.

He should count himself lucky that the police stopped him and asked questions - in some countries (maybe Iran?) he'd have been shot first...

When I was a student in the early 90s we had the pleasure of a visit from the armed response unit because a neighbour had seen one youth chasing another whilst brandishing a pistol. The ARU came charging into the back garden and straight into the house via the kitchen. Trust me, a lot of angry shouty firearms officers can be very very intimidating.

The officer first into the kitchen found the owner of the pistol reloading his deadly firearm from the kitchen tap rofl

At the time I thought I was going to die, but afterwards we thought it was hilarious. Perhaps the chap in story should have taken it the same way.

Honestly, how fking obvious should it have been that it really wasn't a great idea? biggrin

That said, what's the chap supposed to day? It's his right to train, and even if he had through of it could you see him getting far trying to do anything at all to "clear" it?

30kg weight vest? Blimey that must make running a bit harder!

He sort of has a point though, if he had looked Caucasian the call to the police may not have happened - but that's more a problem of concerned members of the public seeing heavily tanned individuals running with weight vests and immediately making the incorrect assumption that they are suicide bombers.

I was thinking. Is it a breach of his human weights?

Just lucky he didn't have a table leg in a plastic bag. Then he'd have been in real trouble!

Sure is, and after a brief delay he can train. Non story.

Only if he wrapped the table leg up in the bag so just the curved end was protruding and then pointed it at officers who were armed. Who were responding to calls of man armed with a sawn off shotgun.
