Tempted to swap Tuscan for Cerb..
Discussion
I moved from a Tuscan to a Cerbera but stayed with the Speed six engine so can't comment on the AJP. I find the Cerbera more enjoyable as I thought the Tuscan was always trying to kill me!, I should have spent more time setting it up properly but it was a difficult car to drive fast enjoyably. I love the Cerberas interior and I needed the rear seats for my twins and I like the fact you can open the bonet which was a real ball ache in the Tuscan. I do miss not getting the roof and back window out which I did as much as possible in the Tuscan. The doors in the Cerbera are longer than the Tuscan so I hope you have a wide garage. I have spent money on new shocks and set up on the cerb and it handles better than my Tuscan ever did but as i have said i did very little to the Tuscan in this area which was a mistake. A well set up car is crucial if you are going to enjoy having a TVR and this is the first are i would look at once purchased. All in all I like both the Cerbera and the Tuscan but if I was being pushed the Cerbera just edges it but it,s close very close!!!.

As Macey says I swapped my Tuscan for a Cerb in June in order to save my marriage
Mrs WhyTwo was not HP about me not being able to take both my boys out or us not being able to go out as a family. I needed 4 seats. Nothing else ticked the boxes. Compromise for me is not being able to take the roof off and it gets me every time the sun shines!
But as Natben says the Cerb is so much more planted. Mine has Nitrons and Steve Heath drop links all round whereas the Tuscan was on the std Bilsteins so not a fair comparison but they are light years apart. The Tuscan always felt like it was trying to jump in the nearest hedge, the Cerbera makes you want to throw it into bends and floor it out. The grip is immense and a bit of rear end action is controllable.
The V8 is not like an American muscle car V8 so doesn't make the same noise but the grunt from low down is phenomenal. It just pulls and pulls and pulls. The pops and bangs on overrun from 3.5k revs are great but not as full on or loud as my Tuscan with CCC's. Tempted to de-cat but not sure if I will.
I would say go for it. You can always go back to a Tuscan in the future. I think I'll probably go for a Tuscan 2S at some time in the future but for now I'm loving the Cerb.

I have owned both a 4.5 cerb and a 4.0 tuscan, and i have to say i love both in different ways! They are both blistering fast, both head turners in their own way and both have presence that few cars could hope for....i think the cerb pips the tuscan in an animalistic pure driving pleasure machine. It always feels so intense and for me that was part of the attraction. It just seemed to leap for the horizon and the noise was amazing...
The tuscan is more usable, the roof come off and is generally a bit better at most things, very flexible has smaller doors and fits in the garage well!! Its also quicker off the line but..not sure why really, probably something to do with the numpty behind the wheel
Cerby interior is fantastic, i think the exterior is a little bit dated, but a definite classic. Tuscan is a pretty different shape and a bit of a love hate. I love it... but i didnt always love them!
I would say go for it....buy one thats sorted out though. I have read threads recently where people are saying that they cost in the region of £5k per annum to run!!! My Tuscan has cost more than that so far but i had a rebuild....my Cerby cost significantly less, maybe i was lucky....
